Seachtain na Gaeilge 2013
Seachtain na Gaeilge was a great success. The schedule was as follows:
International Women’s Day
International Women`s Day 2013: Head Girl Sadie Cobbe and senior class prefects represented St Aloysius Secondary School at an event hosted by Cork`s Lord Mayor Jerry Buttimer on March 8th 2013. The seminar explored the expanding roles and opportunities for young adults in the context of 2013 being the EU Year of the Citizen, the 7th Irish Presidency of the EU and the 40th anniversary of Ireland joining the EU. Senator Deirdre Clune, one of the guest speakers, also addressed the students.
History Achievement
UCC School of History and Mercier Press Essay Competition 2013. Shauna Williams TY has been awarded 2nd place in the Senior Cycle level competition and will be presented with her prize at the awards ceremony on March 25th. Congratulations to Shauna and her History teacher Ms. O’ Donovan
Basketball
Basketball: 1st year basketball Team are through to the quarter finals after great wins in the opening round. Well done girls and to coach Aoife Breen and good luck in the next stage of the competition.
Annual Awards Ceremony
St Aloysius Annual Awards Ceremony takes place on Friday March 22nd – more details later
