A comprehensive service in the area of Career Guidance is provided. Every effort is made to ensure that each student makes suitable subject choices at junior and senior level and subsequently enters on a course of work or further study compatible with her personality, talents and abilities.

This includes the provision of information on job opportunities, Post Leaving Certificate and Third Level education courses. Each student is guided in interview techniques, CV preparation and the completion of application forms before leaving school. Visits are made by the Leaving Certificate students to Open Days held at the various third level institutions and Career Exhibitions.

There is a useful career guidance website listed on our links page. This refers to the CAO (Central Applications Office) application procedure and gives important information for students.

It is worth noting for Leaving Certificate students that the closing date for receipt of applications for degree, diploma or certificate courses in Autumn 2008 is the 1st February 2008.

The Guidance staff are also available for counselling individual students who experience difficulties in personal or academic areas.
